Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Vera Apps LLC handles information when you use Vera and this website.

Operator: Vera Apps LLC, Delaware, United States.
Privacy contact: info@vera-apps.com.
Optional usage analytics and AI sharing have separate controls. You can request account deletion without reinstalling the app at our account-deletion page.
1. Information handled by the app
Vera is an Orthodox Christian prayer and Bible app. Your use of religious content may reveal or allow inferences about religious beliefs. Treat questions and other information you submit accordingly.
- Accounts: a guest account receives an internal identifier. Signing in with Google or an emailed code can provide your email address and, for Google sign-in, your name and profile image. Guest accounts are not necessarily anonymous to our service: their identifiers link app activity and saved data.
- Personal collection and progress: favorites, bookmarks, reading and listening progress, completed sessions, profile settings, and other account-linked activity needed to provide the app. Some settings and downloaded recordings are stored on your device; account features can synchronize data through our backend.
- Technical and diagnostic data: device and app information, network request information such as IP addresses, error reports, diagnostic logs, and identifiers used for authentication, security, delivery, and crash investigation. Crash reporting is separate from optional usage analytics.
- Optional usage analytics: when you agree, Firebase Analytics receives instrumented screen views, actions, public catalog identifiers, reading and listening duration, sanitized outcomes, and app/device information. Signed-in future activity may be associated with your internal account identifier. Names, emails, questions, messages, search text, private notes, and faith answers are excluded from these analytics events. The app does not enable advertising-ID collection or advertising personalization.
- AI features: when you agree to AI sharing and use an available chat feature, your question and relevant conversation context are processed by our backend and OpenAI for safety checks, retrieval, and responses. Our backend records request identifiers, fingerprints, generated responses, status, and usage/accounting information. If you report an AI answer, the selected answer, reason, optional explanation, and your account identifier are submitted for review.
- Subscriptions: Google Play and RevenueCat process purchase and subscription information, transaction identifiers, and entitlement status. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
- Optional contact matching: where available and enabled by you, contact numbers are normalized and hashed on your device for matching. Hashes, rather than raw contact names and numbers, are sent to the service. Hashing reduces exposure but does not make a phone-number hash anonymous or impossible to match.
- Support: we receive your email address and the information you choose to include when you contact us. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes, or full payment details.
2. How we use information
We use information to operate accounts and personal collections; deliver content and available audio; synchronize progress; manage subscriptions; provide requested AI features; send enabled notifications; investigate errors and abuse; respond to support and rights requests; and meet applicable legal obligations. Consented usage analytics helps us understand and improve the app.
3. Services that process information
We use service providers to perform the functions described above:
- Supabase: authentication, database, storage, and backend functions.
- Google Firebase: optional Analytics, Crashlytics, notification delivery, and hosting. Google Analytics and BigQuery support consented usage reporting and diagnostics.
- RevenueCat: subscription and entitlement management.
- OpenAI: AI safety checks, retrieval embeddings, and conversational generation when you use AI features with consent.
- Google: Google sign-in, Google Play distribution and payments, and Google Workspace email for support.
Providers process information under their applicable terms and settings. We may disclose information when required by law or to address fraud, security incidents, or legal claims. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Your controls
Optional usage analytics starts disabled. You can enable or stop sharing in the app’s Privacy choices. Stopping prevents future collection through that optional analytics flow; it does not recall already uploaded events. AI sharing requires its own consent, and withdrawing it blocks subsequent AI requests; it cannot recall information already processed. Device settings control notification permissions. Contact matching requires your permission where the feature is available.
5. Retention and deletion
We retain account-linked information while needed to provide your account and its features. Following a verified deletion request, we remove the account and associated personal data that we control, subject to applicable legal, security, fraud-prevention, and transaction-record obligations. Requests involving service providers are handled with the relevant provider; deletion from our backend alone does not erase every provider’s records.
Diagnostic, analytics, AI request, support, and backup records have separate retention requirements and provider settings. Records are retained according to their operational purpose, applicable requirements, and those settings. Backups can remain until their normal expiry and must not be used to reactivate a deleted account. We do not promise a universal fixed retention period or immediate deletion of all copies. Contact info@vera-apps.com for information about a particular record or request.
Turning off analytics, uninstalling the app, deleting an account, and canceling a subscription are different actions. See account deletion for the request process and subscription guidance.
6. Security and international processing
We use encrypted connections and access controls to protect information. No system can guarantee complete security. Vera Apps LLC is based in the United States; our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where applicable law requires safeguards for a transfer, the relevant lawful transfer mechanism must apply.
7. Privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, or receive a copy of your information, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent. In the EEA and UK, processing may rely on providing the requested service, consent for optional features, legitimate interests in security and reliability, or legal obligations, as appropriate. Information revealing religious beliefs may require additional protection and a separate lawful basis under applicable law.
Send requests to info@vera-apps.com or use our data-request instructions. We verify identity before disclosing or deleting account information. You may complain to the relevant data-protection authority. Mandatory rights are not limited by this policy.
8. Children
Vera is intended for adults and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has supplied personal information, contact info@vera-apps.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
9. This website
This website has no analytics scripts, advertising, sign-up forms, or tracking cookies added by Vera. Firebase Hosting may process network and technical information needed to serve and secure the pages. Sending an email opens your email service and shares the information you send with us and our email provider.
10. Changes and contact
We update the date above when this policy changes and provide additional notice when required. All privacy inquiries go to info@vera-apps.com. The operator is Vera Apps LLC, Delaware, United States.
